Hello everyone! I just returned home from Las Vegas where I went to see Miss America Live! 2008. My mom and I went out and stayed with my sister and we were joined by one of my good freinds and fellow titleholder, Miss Fallen Timbers, Emily Cousino. We had such a blast hanging out at the strip and shopping! It was Emily's first time to Las Vegas, so we tried to see as much as possible! We also met up with our good friends and other fellow contestant Jillian and Mrs Dansko to get ready for the show! Although we started off with some bad luck, including my severe eye infection, Leslie's car breaking down, the Monte Carlo catching fire and Emily getting stranded in Atlanta on standby, we had an awesome time and left Vegas with our luck changed!
This year Miss America had a "Reality Check" and the show reflected it! It was very upbeat and modern this year! The contestants had the chance to feel young hip and sexy on stage and you could tell they had a great time! I'm glad they did the reality show because it seems like it allowed the girls to become freinds and get to know eachother, instead of being too stressed and competitive to get to know one another. There were a few changes that will take some getting used to and some things that I'm sure will change, but overall it was a fresh new take on Miss America!
Congratulations to our Miss Ohio, Roberta Camp, she was just gorgeous and made us all proud and Good Luck to her on the remainder of her year!
Congratulations to our new Miss America 2008, Kristen Haglund, former Miss Michigan. She was awesome and just has IT! Good Luck to her on her year as Miss America!
