I just returned home from another GREAT week in Mansfield competing for the title of Miss Ohio 2008! I was in very good spirits all week and had so much fun with the other contestants. We did so many things while in Mansfield, including the Miss Ohio parade, attending the Miss Ohio festival in downtown Mansfield, a runway style show at Richland mall and so much more! I had a blast competing as well! On Tuesday I had my interview with the judges, which went very well, Wednesday I competed in Evening Gown/ On-Stage Question, Thursday - Talent, and Friday - Swimsuit. On Saturday night, I was lucky enough to not only be called into the top 12 but also into the top 5 and became the first runner-up to Karissa Martin, Miss Ohio 2008!
Although I did not win, I was flattered just to be part of the top 5 with four other wonderful women! Karissa's platform is "Skin Cancer Awareness for a Second Generation" and will do a wonderful job as our Miss Ohio. It was an honor to be in the final two with her!
Thank you to all of you who have supported me thus-far and I will keep you all posted on my next endeavors! I plan on competing in the National Sweetheart Pageant which is a national pageant for the runners-up in each state. I also plan on continuing my journey to Miss Ohio and Miss America and have already begun planning and preparing for next year...there is no use in wasting a week resting!
Keep Karissa in your thoughts as she has a full and exciting year ahead of her as she continues on to Miss America 2009!!!
