Hi there everyone! I'm sorry I haven't updated earlier, it's my first week of classes...a week later than everyone else, so I've been catching up!
I updated you last on my talent night of competition, and the next night I competed in evening gown, swimsuit, and on-stage question. My on-stage question asked about the importance of personal image in politicians and if I thought it was important. (This has to do with my career goal of being a political and business image consultant.)
When all of my preliminary competition was through, I felt very confident in myself and proud of the job I did representing the great state of Ohio!
Going into the final night of competition, I looked around realizing how wonderful everyone did, how tough the competition really was, and how much I learned from these lovely young women, but I felt very confident in myself and proud of how I represented my state even if I did not hear my name called into the top 10. As I walked out on stage I was so excited and felt so proud to have even made it to Miss National Sweetheart & when it came time to name the top ten they surprised us that it was a top 11!
After 8 names had been called, I heard "please welcome, MISS OHIO!!!" I was so excited! I was more that honored to have the chance to represent Ohio on the final night of competition among the best of 10 other states! I had so much fun competing that night & loved the feeling of competing in a national top 11!
Although I didn't make the top 5, I will look back knowing I did my very best & had a GREAT time!
To all of the people of Hoopeston Illinois, Thank you for making all of us feel so at home, especially with all of the amazing food!
To all of the lovely ladies I had the chance to meet and compete with, thank you for making it such a fun week and for all that you taught me! I miss you all already!
To all of the people who supported me on my journey to Hoopeston and my first(and hopefully not last) national competition, Thank you for your wishes and prayers!
And big thanks to those who were there with me, Mom, Dad, Linda and Eric Wagener, and Jeri Waite! Thank you for making the trip to cheer me on, what a blessing!
OH-IO!!!
God Bless!
